Watsacowie Brewing Company is located in Minlaton, a 35 minute, well worth it drive from James Well. They are an independent microbrewery offering tasting paddles, vodka seltzers and ginger beer. They have food trucks there on the weekend and some holidays but check their socials for details. It is family friendly and worth the drive but you will need to book through their website.

Bond Store Wallaroo is a little under an hour’s drive from James Well. A microbrewery, award winning distillery and delicious food cooked on a charcoal grill. Grab yourself a paddle, book a gin masterclasses, and enjoy the stunning views of the brewery tanks and copper still named Ginger. Yes, they have named their still.​

 

Sunny Hill Distillery, Arthurton is 25 minutes drive from James Well. Set on the Colliver Family Farm, it is a family-run standout crafting premium spirits from grain grown right on the property. They’ve proudly coined the term “crop-to-drop” to describe their hands-on, farm-to-glass approach. You can do a behind-the-scenes distillery tour, have a cheese-and-cocktail pairing or enjoy a gin paddle. Venue is dog-friendly and they frequently hosts live music and food trucks. Located at the highest elevation on YP, the views are spectacular.​

 

Hedonbar Brewing Company in Kadina is about 50 minutes from James Well but close to Wallaroo so if you have a tea-tootler as the driver you can make a day of it and visit on the way to or from Bond Store. They are an independently owned microbrewery and we suggest grabbing a four-beer paddle.Check their website for opening hours and live music schedule.​

 

Lost Tide Spirit Co in Stansbury is 40 minutes down the coast from James Well specialising in small batch gin, liqueurs and vodka. You will need to book.

 

​​Ardrossan Hotel – Worth booking just to be safe. The food is great and you will likely need a take away container to take home the left overs.​

 

Ardrossan Bakery – All good but get into the kransky or a sausage roll.
